Deep Clean Your Carpets: A Comprehensive Guide to Carpet Shampooing

Carpet shampooing is different from regular cleaning activities. Even a slight mistake in this work can ruin the entire carpet. This is why carpet shampooing requires trained people to ensure that the carpet is cleaned properly and does not suffer any damage.

Dry vacuuming, carpet spot cleaners, brushes and dustpans are essential for regular carpet cleaning. And any cleaning worker (housekeeping person) can do this job. But today, apart from this, we are guided you the method of shampooing carpet.

There are 4 main steps in carpet shampooing, if followed, carpet shampooing will give good results.

Dry Vacuum Cleaning

This is the first activity of carpet shampooing. In this activity we use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust from the carpet.

Cleaning of carpet stains

After dry vacuum cleaning, we have to clean the carpet stains. For this, carpet stain removing chemical/detergent is used. Spray the carpet stain removing chemical and rub it on the stained area with a carpet brush. Later, the area has to be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner or sponge. In this process, all the carpet stains have to be cleaned. How you clean carpet stains is important, if not cleaned properly, it affects the entire cleaning process.

Do not spread the stain, use a spray gun to apply cleaning chemicals, and use a clean sponge or scrubber. If you use scrubbing pads and dusters of any color, the color of the duster may spread to the carpet.

To remove carpet stains, use only the amount of chemical recommended by the chemical manufacturer. If more chemical is used, the carpet may be damaged.

Carpet Shampooing

We need a carpet shampooer. There are two types of carpet shampooing machines in the market, one is with foam generator and the other is without foam generator. This is the main activity part of carpet cleaning.

The foam generator machine generates carpet shampooing chemical in foam format and it will dry easily. It will take a long time to dry the carpet without a foam generator.

Use a soft brush to shampoo the carpet. Mixing light water (in cold sesion use warm water) and recommended quantity of carpet shampoo chemical is to be poured into the tank of the machine or in the foam generator.

After this start shampooing from one corner of the floor to other. Where the machine is not accessible, such places and corners have to be scrubbed with a brush. All such floors have to be shampooed.

Use wet vacuum cleaner to extract water. After shampooing, use a wet vacuum cleaner to dry the wet carpet. Vacuum the cleaner to suck up all the water and repeat the process two or three times if needed. After using a wet vacuum cleaner, leave the area to dry for 4 to 8 hours.
